A big Wharncliff

Dan, is there any particular tricks for doing the butt cap? I mean following the grooves in the stag without actually touching them?

Great looking knife!

I was wondering this as well... I love what you did there, but the only way I can think to do it is like slotting a guard with files.. a lot of small adjustments.

I dunno... if I was a pig I wouldn't want that sticking out of me. :)

I might bare my throat for it though...

I love Wharnies and THAT, Sir, is one of the most beeyooteefull I have ever seen. Thanks for the pix.

Jerk here. Yes we need to play some more. I always enjoy having folks over to play with hot steel. Andy, works like brass. At least what Darrin gave me did. Drilled easy and no problem cutting. Mr. Wilder, you don't think my shop is always clean?

Guys, the way I do the butt capp is 1st grind till its close then put on magnifying glasses and use a Foredom with carbide burrs and slowly carve it. Really not hard. I used a dremel and it also works just picked up the Foredom recently and really like it. After the carbide burr I use a fine stone to take out rough lines then a burnisher. You guys try it, its really not that hard to do. If you get in the stag a little, just stain it with leather die that is the same color. I mix leather die all the time to adjust to get the color I want. Try it. Oh, and thanks for the kind words.
