Depends on how you define problem I guess. I drank regularly and heavily, albeit quite functionally. Decided to give it a rest for a while and haven't missed it as much as I thought I might.

Now you'll have time to practice for your upcoming role in Dune:the musical.

Good for you Josh!! I'm sure Rusty is not only proud, he also is around and has your back. Josh have you ever heard Johnny Cash's song "the beast in me"? It's a great song to listen to when you're sober and walking the path. Check it out, I think you'll really like it.

(I'm only six months out myself-though before that I'd gone over two years. Until I convinced myself I could have "a few on the weekends"...you know how that one ends)

There was once a time I could not imagine living without booze, now I enjoy a measure of peace and happiness that eluded me in my drinking days

Thanks for posting that Stainless. That's an excellent point and one I've found very true for myself as well.

There is much joy, peace, and comfort ahead, Josh.
Work 'em, live 'em, grow by them.

Thanks for the outpouring of support, everyone. Geeze, I'm near-speechless.

Thanks for sharing. It is rare to hear a bit of good news these days; and, I really appreciate it. Here is a big  for you.

Josh, have you ever made ginger beer (No there's no alcohol)? Some versions are carbonated, some are really ginger hot, others are like a strong ginger ale...Lots of versions, all goooooood!!!

I've found that carbonated water (polar makes some as does Poland Spring and others) with flavoring (no sugar) really satisfy my craving for a cold carbonated drink on a hot and/or long day. I can't stand the sweetness of soda (pop or tonic to some of you;) ) and the diet ones make me feel odd.
