Can you tell us how you finished off the cutting edge?
The knife was forged from 1/4 inch stock so I did a true flat grind to bring the edge down to a fairly fine thickness. Thin knives cut better than thick knives and something this small will not be used for chopping. I didn't leave any extra beef on the blade. There is a secondary grind on the edge at about 15 degrees to make this little knife cut small projects. You should see in whittle at newspaper.

Now, if the smell of black powder and my time in Dixie Gun Works catalogues means anything, I would have to say that this little "jewel" would cut patches and maybe even knap flint. Anyway, I can't pass it up. PayPal on the way Gerry as soon as the smoke clears!

Got the PP John. THANK YOU! I missed the mail carrier today but might have to ride the Harley to the post office this afternoon. Man I hate having to do that:p

Gerry: The knife arrived safe and sound yesterday. I hope you enjoyed the ride on your bike as much as I enjoy having this knife! You can be sure that this one of a kind "Jewel from Gerry" will be with me whenever I take my flintlock for a walk in the woods! Thank you! :-)
