A Boderfighskin Knife A what ???

Very nice what ever you choose to call them. I love those really long clip point blade but i bet they are over 4 inch in blade length. Absolute max length i can carry in ohio legally. Agter 4 inches i risk perm loss of the knife if a cop takes it for what ever reason.

As for to short blade to short handle i dont know i have used some really tiny knives i currently carry a crkt hawk k-at knife 6 and 1.4 over all. Small thing but it feels good in the hand. Its all about how you hold a knife and if the shape etc lends it self to a good grip position angle etc.

The smaller the knife folder or fix blade the more thought you need to put in to the handle to make the knife usefull. Bigger blade and handles allow for more designs and shapes than smaller blades and handles.

Again back to my personal carry blade. The hawk kat has a generous thumb rest and fore fingure rest with out that it would be worthless as any thing but somethign to look at. Go smaller yet and you need a knife with a ring type handle like some of crkts neck knives make use of. Small blade small handle (very small handle and blade infact) Yet these knives would be very usefull and capable knives. The knife i made from a file i named the river rat is crazzy small in handle and blade bout 6 and half yet it remains a usefull knife as i considered the fact that it is small when i started.

Fred,
I see that you're in Southeast Ohio. I have a brother in Cambridge and my family just sold our cabin at Seneca Lake last year. Are you anywhere near either of those places?

How did you end up in Washington?

My place is about an hour south of Cambridge. I attend a show, that's held at Cambridge, every year.

We lived in Columbus, the capital, until 1980, my wife and I opted for some space and headed for the country. Green Acres like:D.

My forge sits atop the highest hill in Washington country. We love it here.

I spent some time in the N/W in the early 60's I like that part of the country also.
