A Bowie - all in pieces

Here is one I am working on when time allows between shop knives. The steel is 1087 drawn to 1000 grit so far and the wood is cocobolo with brass and bronze fittings.

I need to clean up the pieces and put it all together. Also need to do a tooled sheath for it.

I kooks great man. I like all the pins in the handle, can't wait to see the finished product.

I have been thinking about making a through tang myself.
 
Nice chopper mate! The guard filing seems a little off though.. got a fix in mind?

That is part of the clean up I mentioned with some additional work on the butt cap. I broke my mini file so need to go to town next week for a new one to continue working on this one.

Thats a 100+ mile round trip for me so I go to town sparingly.

I hope you plan on getting more than a file when you go to town. I've got about a 5 minute drive to town and I go as little as possible. If the prices they are charging us for gas was for rocket fuel it would take me 10 seconds to get there. BTW, good looking knife!

I hear you Ray, My list is getting longer everyday. Mostly for knife making stuff and of course food stock up.
