A Buck, a Case, and a GEC !

This is one of those fairly easy/impossible choices that I love about BF.

For a large slippie doing yardwork, I'd reach for either a Buck 307, the BF '24 (and apparently '25 for some of us), or Case '75.

Most days, I'd probably pick one of these three.
- The GEC Coonskinner has the best action out of my small GEC collection, and for such a long blade it absolutely disappears in the pocket.
- For the Buck, my absolute favorite is a 301. And my absolute favorite is a 303. And my absolute favorite... you get the idea. Messy yardwork, camping, fancy pants, or anything in between is just fine for a 301/371, 303/373, or 309. I love the 305, but don't quite have the skills and imagination to pull it off for some of my gardening. (To be fair, I'm a terrible gardener.)
- I have a lot of second-favorite Case knives, but the Peanut can do most everything.

Interesting thread! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
I've enjoyed reading about everyone's picks!

For my Buck selection, I'm going to go with a stag canoe I have. The canoe is one of my favorite patterns, and stag is my favorite handle material, so this is a no-brainer for me. (I think the Buck canoes are all made in China, though, so I hope that doesn't violate the rules for this thread.)

I'll go with a Case chestnut jigged bone CV sowbelly stockman. Again, this was a fairly easy choice because sowbelly stockman is also one of my favorite patterns (canoe and sowbelly are both in my top three patterns, for sure), and I've been fortunate enough to acquire quite a few knives from the Case chestnut jigged bone CV series, which I think is one of Case's best. This knife also has sentimental value, being a gift from a former BF member.

I don't have a lot of GEC knives, but the ones I have are all both very nice and gifts from BF members. I'm going to choose a spear/coping EO #85 with horn covers. I tend to prefer multiple-blade knives, and this is my only GEC that is not a single blade. And although I don't think I ever saw this pattern of pocketknife before I came to BF in 2014, the first time I ever saw one it seemed so familiar and classic and desirable! Not my personal favorite jackknife pattern, but one of several perfect frames for a knife, if that makes any sense. o_O🤓
