A Buck For Your Wife?

It's time once again to think of something "special" to give the Mrs. for Christmas...... I've been noticing that the Mrs. has been carrying some of my knives, on occasion, during the past few months. Is it too cheesy to get her a knife?

Have any of you purchased a Buck for your lady? If so, what model and does she like it/carry it?

Knifeschmied,

A knife for the Mrs would be nice. What do you think about the Lady Buck 506? Isn't it the only female knife Buck ever offered?

My Mrs. applies other standards. Her opinion is, that the 119 is a kids knife. That's true!!!

Best,
Haebbie

Oh, after I got to this thread I realized it was "Buck".

Anyway...
Mrs Goose always carries a CA legal switch (2.5") and sometimes my 55.
I don't think it's too cheesy, but I'm a cheesy guy to begin with.

A wife of a brother got a 119 after seeing a few of my other brothers and I sporting 'em:

I had a Buck Prince customized for my wife (link) and she really likes it. It gets used on campouts and fishing trips but thats about it. I can't seem to convince her to carry it all the time, even though she is always asking me to cut something for her...

Oh....I thought this was a "Trade" thread....my fault. :)

My wife has a Buck 119, Buck 110, and a SOG Powerlock. She carries all but the 119 daily. She also carries a Ritterized Altoids tin. She si the bomb too.

...<sigh>...You know, when you hit 50, your memory is completely full, and anything additional you want to add to it requires that previously stored memory be deleted... :(

I hope this is worth deleting some of my precious stored memories...

OK!!! WTF is a Ritterized Altoids tin??? :grumpy:

I'm with Haebbie on this one. Only you should get her the Pearl handled 507. It's a sweet knife for the wife to carry in her purse.

I bought my wife a pearl handled 309 Buck and she normally keeps it in her purse. She still looks to me when she neds to have something cut. I think she forgot its in her purse. Oh well! :o

...Mine's the same way Mike. I gave mine a nice little 704 and it hasn't moved from her purse since...LOL...She will show it to people as an example of what she receives from me as a gift though :p but she has me cut what she needs cut with my EDC's...Go figure...:o

I'm guessing this is an Altoids tin that has been converted to a survival kit, like the kits Doug Ritter has on his web site (equipped.org).

I haven't seen a it in an altoids tin before, but the equipped kits are nice and small.

My wife bought me the 2007 tin with the 373,379, & 375. Then she informed me that she needed 1...or 2...or 3 of them to put in each of her purses. I guess turn-about is fair play. Usually I buy her a knife...to keep in OUR collection :p

A woman's perspective here. I love Pearl Handled knives. Even some 'faux mop' if it is done right. But I dislike the concept of knives for women being extra smaller in scale or done up cutesy. Like those Case Pink Bubba Gums. I like knives with a pocket clip when wearing jeans. Something slender and elegant for my purse. One can find a knife with those elements that is not overly dainty.

Liner or frame locks I find difficult to close if I've let my nails get long. Can be done, of course, it is just more awkward to grip the knife with one hand and reach in with the thumb nail horizonal to the handle and press in. And long nails can break if the opening of a slip joint is a tight one. How about an 'easy opener' of some type? Whoops, Buck doesn't make one, or a turn ring knife either. Forgot what forum I was in.

This is a case where an auto would fit the bill perfectly and I have seen small Buck folding hunters so converted. Or a garter dagger of some sort like Angelina Jolie wore as 'Mrs. Smith'. Actually, a small sheath knife tucked into a purse would work. I just never tried it.

That's a great idea... here honey, here is a nice new Frontiersman... blade too large? That's Ok, it'll go well in our collection - LOL

My wife is not allowed to have firearms even in her car at work. One young man resisted a car-jack on the way home last September - lost the car and got shot four times for his efforts. Luckily, although holed in his neck, abdomen, forearm, and thigh, he has no major physical damage and is back at work. She carries a Kershaw 'Rainbow' chive in her pocket - and a 2" 10 hidden in her car during the day, near her gear shift on the way home. Helluva note.

She likes my 110s - but loves that little 'Chive'.
