As a kid my grandmother had an early 70's Impala that came with a small pocket knife where the second blade was a door key to the car. Needless to say I was fascinated and my little kid brain was blown away. She was the only person I even met that had this. Looking this up I guess they were Imperial knives and were a factory option/gimmick. Was this more common than I realize or was it pretty rare?

Thought about this again while driving to work this morning. We missed an obvious era where we all still had the fob with key. Victorinox or someone like them should have partnered up and built in the fob into a scale. They had lights, clocks, and I think a few other gadgets built into scales for a while. Seems like a miss.

I miss real keys that didn't need batteries & could go through the laundry without damage.
