I recently got a Rodan but haven't used it yet. It is a hefty knife with a 5" blade . It is made of 1075 carbon steel. I think it is well made and very sturdy. It comes with a pretty decent leather sheath,
It was not that sharp out of the box and I have put a better edge on it but i know it is not as sharp as it could be.
I think it will stand up pretty well to any kind of "normal" usage.
I got it basically as an introductory knife and think it is well worth the $25 I paid.
It's not at all uncommon for them to come more than a little shy of their full potential sharpness. However, once I gave mine a few quick passes with a diamond stone it was a scalpel. Condor does a phenomenal job heat treating their 1075, and not only will it take a very fine edge, it'll hold it too. Even if it had come fully sharpened from the factory you'd have to sharpen it eventually and then it'd end up the same as one you sharpen out of the box. Not too big of a deal if you ask me.
The Rodan appears to be be sharpened on one side (chisel grind? is that?) Is is beveled on both sides? Looks nice in pics.
It's a full flat grind with a high convexed edge.
