TL;DR: do you know any cheap knife with a liner lock that could be easily disassembled or repurposed for a blade similar to a mix of duckbill/karambit blade?

ah yes, random assignment in school, aren't they lovely?

this one is at least, we were tasked with making a (at least) semi-unique product. as me being on this forum might suggest, i like knives.

i have been searching for a good design for a while and when i asked the teacher i was allowed to use parts of other products i've previously built.

and so here i am, asking if any of you know any cheap liner lock knives that would be suitable for this, i have 2 that will need some light work with the dremel to fit a proper-looking blade of the design i got planned. the design is easiest described as a mix between a duckbill and a normal karambit blade.

of course, they are fairly expensive for the project but as it seem we get to keep them unless we make something illegal,i would not mind $35 before shipping

i apologise if this post is in the wrong part of the forum and ask you to be kind on my grammar as i'm not a native english-speaker

I'd probably go with something in the Tenacious / Ambitious / Resilience line. They're easy to tinker, wide enough to take a variety of blade shapes, and fairly well-priced.

$4 wal-mart Ozark knife, you could get 9 for $36 and try a bunch of different looks. First knives I built weren't real knives, I used wielders grade SS (can't heat treat). Like this one......

The guard is a brass token, the end is a mouse ball with a broken drill bit epoxied inside it and the tang, the handle is old t-shirt dipped in fiberglass and wrapped, then sanded.

scrape SS , handle is the plastic off an old WD passport HD (hard drive holder)

Check out Schrade and Böker Magnum

Tons of inexpensive liner locks to choose from.

i'm currently checking through schrade and i'm starting to think that they'll be the final choise, just hope american amazon ship to sweden

I think amazon germany is a better option for you, and since it's in EU you avoid customs fees

i completely forgot about this thread...... i ended up using a magnum techno drill for the project but sadly (for me) it got chosen as the best project of that year. my nice little wharncliffe (which i now know the name of) now sits in the schools project display case.

Thanx for the update.--KV
