A cheaper shave.

My wife ran up on a clearance on Mach 3 blades. I should be set for about a decade.

Heck---if Gillette had just held the line on price I wouldn't have even bothered to start looking around---now they've lost a LONG time customer---probably forever.

I wasn't using the latest and greatest---just the old M3 and the price skyrocketed---they probably brought out the new line cause the patents are coming due on the M3.

They got greedy---instead of giving the customer a decent shave at a reasonable price--it seems to be all about the dollars now----now they get nothing.

With me paying child support--back taxes(took a second job to pay the CS it just put me deeper in the hole cause of the taxes)---live in nice place--drive a nothing car----high priced shaves just aren't in the cards----wondering how many other guys are out there in a similar situation?

Are you listening Gillette(P&G)? From a FORMER customer

Also noticed that the Right Guard that I've used for years is no longer a Gillette product---but is now made by Dial Corp. Weird.

this thread inspired me to take up shaving with a DE razor, and I've got to say it's a better shave and costs significantly less. I picked up a sample pack and a merkur 15c from westcoast shaving. Thanks to Gollnick for the info.

The Gentlemen's Quarter very kindly sent me some samples to give away to members here at bf.c to promote DE shaving.

I've assembled these into the first ever, four Bladeforums DE Shaving Starter Supplies Kits. Each kit includes a sample puck of a selected Gentlemen's Quarter scent shaving soap, ten blade samples (Dorco, Derby, Bic, and Feather), one bonus blade of a different brand, and two samples of selected colognes. (No aftershave because this is a very personal selection based on skin type.)

These kits will go to the first four people who:

A) Are bf.c members (any category)

B) Are new to DE shaving and agree to begin (including acquiring a razor and brush) within one month of receiving your Blade Forums DE Shaving Starter Supplies kit

C) Agree to make a few posts here on the Razors, Scissors, & Personal Grooming Forum to report on your experiences

and

D) Post in THE GIVEAWAY THREAD (not this thread) in the SHAVING FORUM at bf.c claiming your place in line. I'll e-mail or PM you (make sure your profile information is current) to get your postal address to send your kit to.

These kits are ready-to-go to right now.

I'm about to start using a straight razor myself, I recently tried the new Pro blades from I forgot who, those new ultra thin ones. A excellent shave but being so thin they dull fast and chip bad. I think I was only getting 3 or 4 good shaves with them before they looked like a battlefield.

Time to try out some classic shaving methods!
