A choice between $50 knives

I must've seen a mini-grip or something with 420, or misread an article. They DO make a VG10 version of the Native which costs a bit less, which is why I was looking at it rather then the S30V version. Instead of looking at blade steel, which in normal use is pretty unanimous won't make a difference, I am looking at ergonomics and price. As far as material, I have handles both G10 and the Spyderco zytel handle, and I must say the G10 has better grip and I like the feel more. The Endura 4 wasn't as comfortable as the Native in my hands, although the Native was a bit small. The Kershaw Cyclone has the recurve blade, and from the experience I have had it does make it a bit harder to sharpen, so I am liking the JYDII because of the no recurve on the blade. The Camillus Heat didn't really appeal to me at all. The Kershaw Cyclone is pretty much just as good a choice as the JYDII in my eyes, but holding the Cyclone and a knife with a similair handle as the JYDII in the past, the JYDII style handle as a more secure grip, and with the G10 it will even further that. Between the JYDII, Spyderco Native, Endura 4, and the Cyclone, I went with the JYDII. The Native is too small, and the JYDII has a more secure (and in my eyes, comfortable) grip then either the Cyclone or the Endura 4.

I like my Junkyard Dog II alot. If you want VG10 steel, go with the Kershaw Lahar. Similiar to the Junkyard Dog II, it uses the flipper system which is just as fast as the AO.

Enduras come VG10 unless you really want the best then you could get one in zdp-189. Natives come in S30V.

I think he is looking at a Native III, which does have VG10 and is riveted together. It also has a somewhat different handle than the Native and many find it more comfortable.

I have a Native III and am very please with its feel and blade performance.

I would recommend the JYD or the Cyclone.

The Griptilian (in any of it's blade-steels) is a great deal.

Here are my 50 dollar budget knife suggestions:
Native- $40. One of my favorite spydercos. S30V!
Delica 4 -$45. Not really my favorite, but nice knife. VG-10
Salt 1- $50. The serrated one is awesome and is based off the delica 3 which I like better than the delica 4. H-1 steel won't rust and you can get it in yellow!

The Spyderco Native IIID is very good looking, light in weight, VERY sharp out of the box, and has a comfortable handle. I don't think you can beat this practical EDC knife for the price.

Stay sharp,
