I live in a somewhat small town that is an attraction for tourist. People from Austin and San Antonio show up on the weekends to walk up and down Main St. which is 9 or 10 blocks of small shops and restaurants. Tucked between a couple of these shops is a small brick and mortar knife shop. Mostly slipjoints at fair prices. These shops really count on the Christmas season for sales.
So I woke up this morning with the Christmas spirit and the desire to help out someone who could use a hand. I walked into the shop and unselfishly bought this little Case. Not for my knife jones mind you but to help the shop owner. That's the kind of guy I am. (This is my story and I'm sticking to it:D)

What is a knife jones ,though ?

Jones - An extreme desire for something such as a drug, a food, etc. which could be considered on par with the desire associated with that of of a heroin addict.
Vince has a serious knife jones.
Vince is jonesing for another knife.

You obviously have the proper spirit, Rob. Well done! ;)

Merry Christmas! What a kind and generous person you are, helping a meager shop owner out like that in this season. You sir are a man of character.

And there aren't many of us left. ;) I should know, I just got back from the shop where I picked up a Case Mid Folding Hunter in Amber Bone and CV. (Not my picture, but borrowed from a vendor I deal with a lot.)

I have not seen a Case knife that interested me as much in a long long time. I am not sure if your photo is what is making it weigh on my mind or its lean long lines....but that is a fine looking knife.

I have a desire to fine a shop that needs some Christmas spirit from me....:D

Your tale brought a tear to the eye of this old Scrooge. NOW I truly know the spirit of Christmas. Thank you, Thomason. Thank you. :p :D :)

I might define "knife jones" for YOU as that feeling YOU wake up to each morning, which comes over YOU just prior to your feet hitting the floor!!:D

Thomason - nice knife and such a kind gesture on your part. I am sure you have started something that many of us will feel obligated to repeat - just to keep the spirit of your gesture alive during this holiday season.

It brings a tear to my eye too, knowing that there are still businesses like that. Wish there was one around here...

Until there is I'll keep giving my Holiday Charity to my favorite online dealers. :)

I tried that line and my wife suggested we buy her a new purse and help out the Coach retailer in the mall.

Nice knife - only ever owned a Case fixed blade that was lost many many years ago (the one and only time I loaned a knife to someone). I definately like this one.

If ya really want to help out the dealer, you should go back and buy at least 2 or 3 more .... :D LOL
