A Christmas Kindness

Rob is a personal friend of mine and while I'd really like to say the purchase is the result of the season and his general benevelant nature.......................I believe he really just slipped off his twelve step program. He IS addicted to knife and sheath purchases.......................and we all love him for it. (That's MY story and I'm stickin' to it also.)

You know seeing this just makes me want to do the same and maybe walk to the local knife shop and well---I don't know say, come home with a Canoe to help the local boatmaker and if I happen to see a Trapper along thew way bring him home also. If lucky maybe there's a chance that I encounter a Moose crossing my path. The real spirit would compell me to bring the Moose home also. And if by chance I glanced out into the field and saw a Sodbuster the only real thing to do would be to invite him home for the holidays as well. I guess the possibilities are endless, you'd have to include the local stockman just to be fair. The holiday spirit can really become infectious as Christmas nears, I'd hate to leave anything or anyone out for that matter. And on that note MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE, please run out and spread the joyous message of commerce to your nearest knife merchant!!!

Thanks for the idea, Rob. As usual, I am babbling around here trying to come up with a last minute gift for the wife for Christmas. Happens this way every year. Your spirited action 'pointed' me in the right direction...off to the knife store. I need a knife first!

Jones - An extreme desire for something such as a drug, a food, etc. which could be considered on par with the desire associated with that of of a heroin addict.
Vince has a serious knife jones.
Vince is jonesing for another knife.
Keeping up with the Jones?

Maybe I'll go out and support a local shop owner or two after Christmas when the after Christmas sales are going on.

I tried that line and my wife suggested we buy her a new purse and help out the Coach retailer in the mall.

I was gonna try that too after I read Rob's post, but now I guess I won't since I'm sure the result would be the same. Thanks for testing that one out for the rest of us husbands.

Rob, you are an inspiration to us all and an example of a fine Texan! Btw, you wouldn't be hanging round that town known for its peaches would ya? I needs to find that shop you speak of so I can make a pilgrimage and maybe, um, er, "pay" my respects.
Amos

Sixgunner455, I have the same knife. It was one of my second purchase after coming back around to traditional knives. It is a fine knife and definitely worth having. Great for daily food & snack work, which will also patina the blade. I used to carry it in my back pocket and a sodbuster (first purchase after returning to the fold) in my front.

Well, you couldn't swing a dead cat in that part of the state without hitting a colorful old town but I'm gonna guess Fredericksburg? Never seen a knife shop there but I'm going to have to look closer next time I'm down there. :)

Nice purchase and a great wat to spread the Christmas spirit.

Rob, Amos and Slim,

I need to pay a "pilgrimmage" to that knifeshop as well! If it is in Fredericksburg...or Kerville, please let me know! I live about 40 miles east of Austin, and will make a visit when I get home from this place the end of January.

Ron, we're trying to ease the location out of Rob. I guess a trip to Fredericksburg with the wife wouldn't be a bad thing in the next month or so. Worst happens, I don't find it, my dear wife has a good time and I get to go the Cimmaron Arms.

Fess up, Rob! Where is this small Mecca of Knifedom?

Fredericksburg, TX, the corner of Main and Orange, next door to the Salt Branch Outpost.

Amos,

I know what you mean! Having "Texas Jack's" and a knife shop in the same town is a GOOD thing! I need to stop in at Cimarron and see Mike anyway!

Ron

I do a bit of work in San Antone from time to time, and have been meaning to get to Fredericksburg.

I am really touched at this story. In fact, it goes right up there with the Little Match Girl and the rest of the fairy tales.......:D

Yep, guess a road trip, say after tax return maybe, is due for the wife and I to Fredericksburg.

Thanks, Rob!

Maybe I'll run into some of you "pilgrims" up that way. ;)
