Twas the week before Christmas, when strolling the junk room.
Not a creature was stirring, but it could use a broom.
The machines were piled high, all in disrepair,
wishing to be fixed, and hoping for care.

I turned the final corner and what did I see,
a two wheel Burr-King, as pretty as could be.
Well my eyes lit up and a smile crossed my face,
I knew right then we were getting it out of this place.

I inquired as to why this beauty was standing idle,
My excitement was building, I felt truly unbridled.
I was told the tracking wheel no longer moved,
It wouldn't be simple it has turned out to prove.

I looked it over and what did I find,
the tension ratchet was in a simple bind!
Alas it turns out this grinder was a faker,
Christmas came early, for this aspiring knife-maker.

Hope you all have a merry Christmas!

Sweet deal

I've never seen one in person.

Can you post good pics of the tracking and tensioning mechanisms ?

wooow. this is really sweet. I think santa deserves something more than cookies this year. steak dinner, maybe?

OMFG. Nice score! That's a beautiful Burr King. I think I'd be moved to write some verse about it, too.

Carl, great christmas present(even if it was from yourself) And a great poem to go with it! Merry Chirstmas Grinding!
