This is a knife that Mike Long, a maker noted for his hunting and fishing knives, and I worked on together. Actually I admired this pattern when I was in Minnesota on a fishing trip and had a surprise blank and guard in the mail when I got home. I put a finish on the blade, put on the handle and made the scabbard. I wanted to use the knife myself this fall but Mike says he needs some sanding belts so please sell it.

1/8 inch ATS34 heat treated to Rc 59 - 60 by Paul Bos.
Hollow ground with a mirror finish
Bacote handle
Overall length: 9 1/4 inches
Blade: 4 5/8 inches

I was intrigued with this design because I thought the blade was narrow enough at the tip for caping and there was enough belly in the blade for good skinning. I will let someone else report back after season closes.

The knife is sold. Mike and I thank you Buckman. Bow season opens here on Saturday so I won't have time to make another for myself before the first whitetail goes in the freezer. Let me know how it works in the field.
