A Color Case Hardened Busse?

OK, maybe not CCH. How about fire-blueing?

How about a fire-blued blade with a CCH handle? Maybe in a honkin-big bowie blade - like a decent-gripped Battle Rat.

"Fire Blueing" and niter bluing require more than 500 degreesF. (That great bright blue color hits around 560F in salt). If your factory temper is at a higher temp than that then you're good. Usually knives in carbon steel are tempered below that (I don't know about these big knives. It may be close).

Hey, there's my Piano Key!
