David Farmer makes a great knife. I have a couple of his smaller EDC sized blades and one big guy that is still awaiting a handle.
Farmer blades are 1095 and have a wicked sharp convex edge. They are the only knives I have to "unsharpen" when I get them. They are the kind of knife that you don't realize has cut you until you look down and ask, "Where is all this blood coming from?".
The smaller one is a "Mouse" with purpleheart scales, the larger is a TDP with ipe (Brazilian walnut) scales. The handles are always nice and slim. I have used both of these quite a bit for cutting 9-10 ounce leather recently. They only require one pass giving me nice even cuts.
If you don't have a Farmer I highly recommend them. Each one is unique and for the price I don't think you can do better. David is in the process of getting a bigger forge so I'm looking forward to seeing some bigger blades come out of his shop soon.
