The small St. Louis show is just a couple of weeks away, but with the KMG out of order, things have been kind of slow. I managed to (just now) finish these two blades off and snap some pics of them.

The first one is out of 1095 in the "dao style" that I've gotten kind of fond of lately. :D It has a 6 -inch blade and is 11 3/4 inches overall.

The next one is also out of 1095 and has a 5-inch cuttign edge and is 10 1/4 inches overall. It has a v-ground spine and reptile underlay.

Thanks for looking, and any comments or criticism is welcome. :)

Really like the "dao" simple shape but so practical looking
Thanks for sharing

Thin edges... Mmm... look like really whicked slicers Burch! :D

While the second one is my fav in overall lines, I think that first one's hamon is redonkulous... You going to write your name in it next? Show-off ;)

Very cool stuff Burch!

Hey, Digging those crazy blade lines. See you in St. Louis

Thanks again fellows! See you in St. Louis J --

Jose -- the gaps are "harder" but not fully hardened like the edge as it was edge-quenched.

Wow Mr. Birch.

This thread has taught me two lessons.

1) How very sorry I am that I not not get an order in with you prior to the end of 2005.

and

2) That I definitely need to keep an eye on the "available" section on your website.

Very, very nice work by the way.
Those knives BEG to be held and used.
