Just finished the sheath for this one. It's 9 1/4 inches overall with a 4 1/4 inch blade of W-2 with a wee bit o' filework. The brown underlay is stained 8-ounce leather. As usual, all comments (good and bad) are appreciated.

Here's a poor pic of the sheath -- It looks "streaky" for some reason.

Made this sheepsfoot necker for a buddy of mine who helped me out. I wanted something to take on the river on our annual float trip. Anyway, it is 6 inches overall with a 2 1/4-inch hollow-ground cutting edge.

Both are nice. I like the Japanese style utility the most, but would personally choose to go without the saw teeth on the back.

Thanks all for the comments. :D

Keith - I probably should have taken a pic of the spine, that's a little bit of filework and not sawteeth. That would be a little rough on the ol' thumb. :D

Both are nice, and of course very contrasting to each other. Good to see you working on your wrapped handles. The tanto has a very different tip profile and I like that. I recall some of Greg Lightfoot's knives having a very heavy angled tip (almost 70-80degrees) which is very interesting.

What steel is the river knife ?

PS.- I love that sheath !! Mind if I "borrow" that design ? ;) Jason.

Thanks everyone for the comments --

Jason -- You can borrow the sheath design all you want. I like those wrapped handles and hopefully get to do a few more soon!

The knife shown is W-2. I'm not sure if my buddy will actually take it on the river, but I had to call it something with that funky green sheath. :D
