I haven't posted any knives for a while, thought I'd put these up. The pictures suck more than usual because I didn't feel like cleaning up my shop to set up for photography. :) Got things going on down there.

No 94
"Cratchett Desk Knife"

This one is intended to sit in a desk drawer and open packages, cut off hangnails, like that. Not a carrying kind of knife.

Overall Length 7 3/16"

Blade O1 2 7/8"

Giraffe Bone handle, homemade mosaic pins, brass bolsters. My uncle ordered this about three years ago; I bet he was surprised when it finally showed up! :D

Another desk knife; what's going on here? Am I getting lazy? This is a sort of semi-integral, in that the blade is taken down from the handle, with pearl overlays on the handle. Getting the double plunge symmetrical was something of a challenge. :D I have also learned that mirror polished handles are not necessarily a good thing; pick it up once and the fingerprints make it look pretty trashy. I'm taking this one to the Wolverine show anyway.

Overall Length 6 3/19"

Blade O1 3"

Black Lip Pearl overlays, Elephant hide sheath

Thanks for looking, you all have a great week!

Dave, amazing work! I love the little one with the pearl. The curves and angles and filework on the large one are very interesting, if you omitted doing more or less filework, I would say it is too busy or not enough but it is perfect as is!

Dave those two are lovely. They have a high style look and both have fresh artsy designs. Great execution on all the proceedures also. Beautiful work .

Hey, thanks guys, for the kind words. It feels good to get some work done once in a while. ;) I wasn't particularly successful on the last one I finished, so you're not going to see it. Same pattern as the top one anyway. Today I ground out a little bird & trout from a sweet piece of damascus by our own Reg Ellery, and profiled a couple of 5" Randall Model 1 knockoffs. But from here on out it's honey-do time...
