Uncle Bill, is the Reti still open for grabs? If so, I'd take it, and thank you. Dan

Dan, did you send Bill an e-mail? If not you won't get it if someone else sends one first. :p ;) :D

Strangest thing happened... I had all my particulars written down, and attempted to send an e-mail, but it will not go through. I called Uncle Bill's phone in Reno, but there was an answering service, so I left a message. Every once and a while the e-mail sending/receiving will fail for some time. I'm not a real whiz with computers, so don't know when I'll be able to send out. I was trying to fix the problem, and felt as excited as Tammy Faye buying makeup on the Home Shooping Network! :D

If you tried the @HimalayanImports address,
it may be through Andale, and andale has been giving problems.
Try himimp @ aol . com
just remove all the spaces before using it.

I did try the Andale address, Dale, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. A window popped up and said there is a problem with the server' connection. Maybe every month or so it will go on the blink...Tomorrow morning when the server's employees are back on the job, I assume the problem with be rectified. This remains to be seen however, since tomorrow is New Year's eve, and many people just take off until the 2nd. Send me a lot of white smoke, guys! :D

Thanks for the heads up, Dean! Dan

I don't want Uncle Bill to know, but I plan to ask for an 18" Gelba Special Tin Chirra by Burra on Monday. I'd like a heavy burl saatisal handle for the khukuri and the K & C (wood purchased from and carved by the Hawali's) with the K & C fashioned by either Bura or another kami, but preferably Bura. Once the blade is ready to for polishing, I'd then like to give Bura a full day to tweak the blade to perfection, remove all imperfections, and give it a razor sharp convex edge. Then he can do the same on the K & C, and place a hollow grind on the Karda. I hope it's sharp, bcause when he comes in the next day, he'll be asked to lather up, and check it to see if it will leave his face as soft as a baby's butt! :D If not, it's back to the drawing board, or will be sold as a blem! :)

It's about 09:40 in Italy, and I can't get through to my programmer. It's futile calling the phone company that supplies the line... I've done so before, and a techician once called me 14 days dater asking when he could come over... Ummmm, "You're 13 days and 16 hours late; I had my programmer come over to fix it." Great customer service in Italy, and it includes the railways, postal service, banks, etc., etc.

Someone do snap it up. At 29 ounces, I'd imagine it can do some good chopping, and it's in a sexy package as well...! There will be more deals soon. :D

For those really in the know, "Unbelievably Badly Built Blade"; :p
no problem, I need a good beater to take through its paces, learn to give a good edge, learn to blue, learn to place a satin finish, etc., etc. On the other hand, it's far to pretty for me to screw up, and I probably will just keep it in the attic.

Dan it seems that if you can post here that it isn't your phone line that's screwed up but something else.
I would try getting a free e-mail account at Yahoo or Hotmail.com for emergency use in such cases as this.

But then I'm pretty computer illiterate and don't know what I'm talking about most times when it comes to computers, just a suggestion.:D

It's happened 3 times in the last 7-8 months. It is the server that for some reason has a glitch. I didn't access from the time I attempted to send Uncle Bill and e-mail until about 09:40 Italian time (GMT +1) this morning. If I had a khukuri, I would have gone to the server's office to discuss the situation, and give me an "upper hand" so to speak! :D Fortunatly, a few minutes later, it was O.K. I called my computer lady (the one who probably laughs her butt off whenever I have any kind of glitch, causse the cause is usally pretty elementary. :) I need pendentive's new tutorial, "Computer 101 for the mentally challenged" :D

Anyway, there is a procedure for removing the phone line, and the AC line from the DSL box to be sure that it is or is not the server. My secretary showed me, and my computer lady is probably laughing a lot less these days...

You're better than me! If you're computer illiterate, then that would place me in the category of &%$£? §°ç@... How would you say that in Cherokee, Yvsa? :D
