The speck visible on the ricasso just below the spine was a fleck of cardboard. It is not a part of the knife and is no longer on it.

And last but certainly not least, the OD-v. Why is it listed way down here at the bottom, you may ask?? ...Well, since I have 3 OD thick Active Duty variants (2 OD's and this OD-v), I felt that it's time to let one slip from my grasp, BUT... It's down here because I may sober up any minute and pull this from sale...still can't believe that I'm listing this...
Here goes...
6. OFF DUTY variant. (.340" satin full height DEEP DISH hollow ground blade/ Rough texture black G-10).
The v-edge on this is almost a zero grind, and it's easily the sharpest OD of my 3 as well as being a pointy li'l bastid! The reason I refer to it as an OD variant is that the tang & handle on it is slimmer and has a slightly different profile than a standard AD/HD/OD profile (see comparison images). It feels great in the hand and has a rough texture to the G-10 that is more like micarta in the way that it's grippy. If ever there was an OD-v begging for use, this one would be it! Did I mention that it's a FULL 3/8 THICK?! BTW, the G-10 should turn completely black with a little oil, but I usually leave this option to the new owner on knives (I did spot test this with a tiny bit of water to see before taking pix). Don't expect to see this listed for long one way or the other...
It looked nekkid without a lanyard next to my other one for its photo shoot, so I put one on... This will be included with the knife.
