I like them both, but for different reasons, obviously. The guthook has more use than a lot give it credit for. I use one a lot when I am gutting (and skinning) a deer.
Thanks. I like that kind of bullnose look and it seemed to work well with the forging marks left on it.
TheGame, the guthook certainly has it's place. I didn't grow up using one and got used to not having it. I guess I just prefer my knives that way. I have seen guys who do like them and they know how to use them quite well. It may well be that I just don't have the skills or knowledge to use one properly.
