I finished these two today. The larger ball grip is a partial tang in walnut, with an 8" blade of 01, wrapped in deer rawhide. The cones are brass with braintan deer tassels. The neck knife has a 4 1/4" partial tang blade of 01, also with a deer rawhide wrap over walnut. The neck sheath is walnut dyed braintan deer, sporting deer hair brass cones. The sheath is sewn with real sinew. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

You do this style very nicely, Wick. I really like both your knives and the engraving I saw for gun furniture. I hope one of these days you'll share a couple rifles with us, too!

They're great looking knives.
They look like they've been around a long time. Got that old world look.

Wick,Beautiful knives. Both knives and sheaths have a neat, clean look to them. Words can not describe. Some of the best I have seen. Period correct for me!!!!!

David, the finish is a Clorox process. The blade is first cold blued, then put in room temp clorox for a few minutes. The cold blue causes a chemical reaction with the clorox, and rust starts almost immediately. Then you clean it up.

Me likey. I like the rustic look that the rawhide gives.

P.S. I like your plunges....a lot.

Troop, I do plunges with a file guide, and a round file that has a diameter the basic thickness of the steel. I file a groove to my double scribed edge center, then blend as I go along. Sometimes I free hand them on the grinder when I don't want them to look too good for the type knife I am doing. Merry Christmas.

Thanks LRB  It looks great ! I may have to try that finish someday soon.

Again, great looking knife & sheath. I love that look !!
