I just wanted to show some of the knifes I've been (can stock removal be refered to as whitlin' out?) making....

Both are pretty much the same aside from handle material. They are 8" long with a 4" blade. 1095 oil quenched, and tempered. I tested the walnut blade out last week. I didn't have any pine 2x4's... but I had a red oak 1x2.5" board... (ought to be worth a couple of pine right!!) I chopped through it and it still shaved the hair on my arm.... I was thoroughly suprised!! I guess I have been learning something.... The micarta was my first time to make one. I liked the plan textured feel of the canvas. Is there any reason I should put some type of finish on it, I really like it the way it is...

If you make a nice leather sheath for the top and maybe kydex for the bottom you should be able to sell those for a good price. Nice knives I like the top

Those look very nice. In fact, I think one of the best things about them is that they look like they were made with patience, and attention to detail- two things that will give you a nicer product than fancy steel or exotic handle material.

Are these your first couple of knives, or have you been doing this a while?

I've been making lots of scrap for about two months now... I've finished probably a dozen knifes or so... Each one gets a little better than the last... I figure as long as that happens I should be a good knife maker in a few decades... :D

Those look like nice cutters! I agree with the others, the quality worksmanship brings out the best in the "simple" materials. I know some guys over in Wilderness that would love those.

Love em!

My finish surely isn't that good yet.

I'd say they are sellable for sure, and I'd not complain about carrying that top one every day on my belt!
