Here are two small kits. One for EDC and one for glove box. The small one has a Vic Farmer, BSA ferro rod and small prybar. Very light and clips to any clothing. The larger (5" x 8" x 3") fits in my glove box and has a little bit of everything including three means of making a fire. The small one fits inside the larger one when I carry it in a daypack with a GB small forest axe.

there is alot of brass stuff in that second picture. i recognize the sharpener and the matchbox, but what is the other thing?

both kits look well thought out, portable and useful.

The other brass item is a Peak Matterhorn AAA flashlight. Three 5 mm LED's, but MUCH whiter than most 5 mm's. Good output and pretty good runtime.

looks like two good basic kits that could get alot done.

how would you compare the opinel to the saw on the SAK?

also, who is the maker of that little fixed blade? looks like a really handy little pattern.

Both saws have similar tooth patterns, but the Opinel's are twice as deep and move through stuff a lot quicker. The small blade is made by John Greco. I bought it from him at a Michigan show for $35 with a dangler sheath. Nice flat grind and very sharp.
