I got into leather work in july and i have pretty much been sheathing everything in order to get some practice. this is one i did yesterday. it is one of my better looking projects so far and definatly one of the most useful.

I had been wanting a more convinient way to carry my fire steel. it is ok in a knife sheath but i really prefer this method of carrying. it houses a standard swedish army firesteel and a flint striker from siguy. i made the stiker smaller so it would fit in the sheath well. the pocket sheath fits really well into the little pocket in the right pocket of most jeans.

the second project was a baldric set up made from some old belts and belt peices. if anyone is more curious about the construction, let me know and ill post a how to thread tomorrow.
it can hold just one knife:

or my whole outdoor setup:

looks like a nice couple of projects, and it looks like you are getting better.

good stuff.

That firesteel pouch looks pretty handy bro! Keep it up.

is it akward to walk with that much weight swinging on 1 side of your body?

surprisingky enough, it is actually very comfortable. the baldric distributes the weight in a veery comforable way.

baldrics are really nice. I've never been really fond of carryng a hawk or GB and knife on the same one, myself. I end up either hooking an axe on a possible bag and cross shouldering, or putting the axe part through a belt.

That's a nice setup, and a great little firesteel sheath.
