a couple question about T-shell

Whats the average thickness? I would treat it carefully like horn? and back it in an doublet with epoxy to make it tougher. It looks like some nice material.

Shhh...T-shell is good enough. (It is illegal).

It is the thin sections of plate from the shell of many tortoise species. It works almost exactly like water buffalo horn. Use fresh belts, slow speed ( or by hand) and avoid heat buildup. Polish slowly with rouge to a brilliant lustre.

I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot-pole. The laws are very strict with stiff fines and jail time. I'm not sure if appropriate paperwork from USF&G is even an option. I work in the wildlife field so I'm just offering my opinion.
