A couple questions about a build

Hello everyone. I've been trying to figure out an implementation for bringing a mythical blade into real life. I have a couple questions regarding the image below (the red square around it).

1. Do you think the piece goes all the way through the pommel? If so, how does the pommel not move around?

2. Should it be an attachment or actually grounded down from the blade steel?

3. Really, I'm trying to figure out how I should cut my steel and what should be a separate piece etc.

THanks so much for any answers.

A. Its a piece of a stacked handle.
B. How do you plan to cut those comically large serrations?
C. What in gods name is that monstrosity....

Part of the appeal of a fantasy piece is the lack of concern for how it will be built. If I were to receive a severe head wound and then suddenly decide to build a project like this I would:

1. Build the ramp in front of the guard as part of the blade ending flush with the guard face.
2. Make the guard as usual, a disc with a slot in it for the threaded tang.
3. The large golden disc behind the guard would be made as a spacer and slotted like the guard but notched at the top to accept the rear part of the ramp.
4. The black part of the handle would be made of one piece with the three golden straps added. They would sit in filed grooves and be secured by the screws seen at the top of the straps.
5. The golden disc behind the handle would be made as a slotted spacer.
6. The back strap of the handle would be made to run across the top of the handle and down the butt in one piece. The front of the back strap would nestle into the notch at the top of the guard spacer and have pins that insert into the back face of the guard. The pommel end of the back strap would have a hole that slides over the threaded tang and get secured with a nut.

That could be built as a full tang. Cut a notch in the top of the guard and slide it on to the ricasso area. Attach the guard then add handle slabs on.

the part with the 45 degree ramps on each side appears to be part of the blade steel.

I disagree. That ramped piece appears to be the forward part of an assembled handle that goes on a hidden tang.

I won't go any farther with build options, as making a fantasy knife is best kept off this sub forum.

When asked about fantasy knives like this one, I reply that fantasy only really works well in the bedroom ... and even then it still has to be possible for you to do.

This is not some uppity club where only certain types and styles should be allowed.

Many great makers have made and do make fantasy knives and those blades far exceed in technique and skill that we see here. Fact of the matter many customs knives sit in drawers and displays and never are used, just like a fantasy knife.

I wish more fantasy knife makers actually posted here. We could learn a lot from their skill.

to me it looks like it is movable . Look close in the red square , I see a pin and the arm looks like it latches to the guard .Now look back at the pommel , very top end , back of handle there is another pin and pivot point . What it does after that I have no idea
