I would certainly be up for a Busse Basic with a blade length over 12" - something like a B13 or B14. Could either be a straight or a kukri. Would be a serious working tool and still only weigh around the same as a BWM or ESEE Junglas.
I think a Basic Kukri Infi 12"-13" blade in respirene-C would be a good idea, keeping it in the Basic pricing range. I also wouldn't mind a Scrapyard version in SR-101. Keeping the weight around the 20 to 22 oz. would be ideal for me as well. Another good idea in this thread is a Basic 12 or 13.
Make it in the 12" to 13" range and thin the blade down to .1875". Now were talking about a real practical Machete for clearing brush and still good chopping power, yet light enough to carry all day when hiking/backpacking!
I'd rather see the Busse brand cover some new ground with their new production for a while, personally. The NMFSH sounds like a grail knife. But, I agree with others, this wold be a good scrap yard project.
