A CS Drop Forged boot dagger to fill a hole in my collection...

Has anyone tried drilling, milling or in other ways machine their CS drop forged knife?
I bought one of the boot daggers mostly for the same reason as the OP, because I didn't have any true dagger, because it's 52100 and because of looks and price. :D
I'm not very likely to ever use it, but that doesn't stop me from thinking about modifying it, it is a bit handle heavy, and while I've found the handle pretty decent, a micarta grip might make it better. So I have considered drilling out the middle part, stripping away the paint from it, and install micarta (or maybe even wood) inlays.
But if the handle is at same hardness as the blade, the drilling/milling part will be awful, and better to just forget about the idea...

I just wrapped mine , but it can be drilled with the right equipment with difficulty .

Right, sounds like it'll be too hard to work with to be worth the effort for me. Might just try some spray on rubber or something, or simply let it be as it is.

For a dagger , you might not need anything to dampen vibration and shock or to insulate from cold but you may want to improve the grip somehow for serious use .
