I picked up a battered 110 at a swap yesterday for $4, I enjoy tinkering and cant pass up a challenge. The tip was snapped off, the bolsters were beat beyond recognition and it barely opened and closed. So far I have cleaned everything, removed the rear bolsters completely, cleaned it inside and out, fileworked the lock bar and reshaped the blade to a nice modified clip. All that's left to do is to finish cleaning the butcher steel scratches out of the blade, assemble and install the new desert ironwood burl scales. What do you think?

Alrighty then, I'll run out to the shop and snap a few of the pieces, then once i get it all together I'll post some pics of the finished product

...Nuthin' quite like "tinkerin' " to pass the cold months of winter...:D ...No rear bolsters huh?...Look forward to seein' the finished product, I'm sure it's gonna look great...

ok, here are a few more poor quality pics. I have cleaned the blade up and polished everything, going to pin her back together and attach the handles tommorow.

only about 1/16" was lost off the point. I like it ALOT better than factory, plus-this one was snapped off, so it's abviously better now than it was :p

Looking good MM! Wasn't there a 111LE without the rear bolster? I believe it might have had Ironwood or Maple Burl scales. I always admired the look of that knife. I think you're going to give that one a good run for the money.

Hey! That has the liner drilled for the 4 brass rivets (plus 1 steel rivet)!!!

It would be cool to install all 4 brass (plus 1 steel) rivets...if you're installing rivets... :D

...Gotta admit that I'm a bit partial to rear bolsters... ( no pun intended...:p ) but if ya like it that way M'ratman it's all that counts... :)

thanks for all the comments fellas. I was gonna install the rivits, but decided not to, kinda like the clean look of pinless handles. I plan on repinning one though.....eventually. after this one is finished I have another one that will be a drop point blade, still ot sure on the handle config. yet. I also have a 2 dot that I highly modified and flatground the blade on (was horribly thick on the edge) that I need to finish, someday :p
