Spring has finally arrived in my region. Over the last few days we have had a pretty drastic thaw, resulting in some flash flooding. This is all pretty normal here in the spring and the tiled fields will drain away in a few days. As you can see from the pics, a small river has materialized in my backyard.

A Fallkniven F1 Gundy sheath arrived in the mail today for me, sent by Dan from JRE industries. I am quite pleased with it. It arrived with what appear to be some marks from the stitching machine on both sides. Dosent really bother me.

It was designed for both horizontal carry and vertical.

I have many plans this spring. The woodlots will be more accessible for me, my girlfriend and my dog. Soon I can put in my garden and I ordered the 32 chickens I plan to raise free range. Once I get the garden in, and the rest of the crops taken care of, then I hope to build an outdoor wood oven.

I love the winter, but its good to see the land without its blanket of snow again.

Very nice. JRE does outstanding work, and I especially like the Gundy pattern.

That's a handsome devil, I like the darker leather than I normally see from them. The horizontal/vertical loop is worth it IMO.

Would love to also see how your land turns out re: the chickens, outdoor stove, etc. Self-sufficiency is something we don't all have a chance to practice but that most all would enjoy seeing in practice.

I have a great respect for someone who can make a statement like this. Some people just dont understand. I will keep you posted.
