A custom Fiddleback!

Right now, i'd ask for a HB, SS, in African Blackwood, black and white liners. Get it to match my Duke. Hell lets throw a Camp in there same config ;)

I would do a tapered Woodsman like this in 5/32nd O1, 3/4 grind with extra spalting on the flats. I'd even settle for orange liners. My Muk has african blackwood/orange liners and its an awesome looking knife. I wonder what a small 1/4, darker burlap bolster would look like with this wood.

At the moment this one, though it wouldn't have to be scandi since he isn't really doing scandi anymore. I have a couple of edc's but just love this handle config not to mention the great spalting on this one. 1/8 tapered tang would be my preference. I need to start begging Andy to make me one.

I actually went and tracked down this picture on BF after the FF website was reworked a couple of months back and this older picture was removed from the site.

Most of the time I see new configs on Fridays that I would like to have as well as anything I would come up with on my own which makes it almost pointless to even ask for a custom from him. I would like to see more of the small knives at higher price point though for example bolstered Runts etc.

I've been pondering this for long enough. Here's what I think I'd want: tapered Kephart, convex 3/4 grind O1, shadetree (dark green, no brown, no...) over an orange pinstripe. I really like the electric orange stuff, but not for this particular knife.

Big paw Duke, 3/16" 01, SFT, saphire Shadetree burlap over natural with thin blue liners.

My dream Fiddleback at this moment is something like a Camp Knife in 3/16" O1, 3/4 grind to leave room for some amazing spalting, drunken burlap over natural with a pinstripe that matches whatever color stands out in the burlap, trinity pins with a mosaic.

What thickness? Mine's 5/32" and the high grind is perfect Imho. If 1/8" the 3/4 grind should be gtg. Plus the taper on the thin blade looks killer. But it's your dream not mine. ;)

For the record I'd also take a 5/16" comp knife with dyed blue Calif Buckeye tapered thin with black and blue liners... Or! Same config only with full on halloween themed scales... bolsters liners and an inset pumpkin all in orange/black and white pinstripe. Might as well go with trinity pinout in leu of the pumpkin. Andy's choice.

I think 5/32 is what I'd choose, though I realize 1/8 is all I need. When my time comes, I think things like the tapered tang are more important to me than the thickness. Though I'm supposed to be dreaming here, so I'll say 5/32. 😄

Rock on Michael. :) You'll dig the taper I reckon. They aren't as hard to do as I thought before trying it myself, but they sure look awesome!

If I were to ask Andy for a knife I'd say

"Thin as you can reasonably can go, tapered tang with multiple types of shadetree laminate. Basically, I need something to show off the material we make. You pick the model."

This is it, with bonus FBF sheath:

Still one of the most epic kepharts (not to mention applications of shadetree) I have ever seen

@FOD: A bit off topic, but has the drunken burlap changed a bit over the years? I have had 4-5 drunken knives (all of which were awesome) but the weave is quite a bit narrower / tighter than ~2012 knives.

Yes, good eye!

In general we get two types of coffee bags; a wide rough weave and a not so wide weave.

In general the not so wide weave are more colorful, with logos and green and red threads. EG; the Brasilian bag above. We will "center cut" out the logo and use this to make a more colorful laminate. This was a result of feedback from Andy.

The wide rough weave are usually stenciled in browns and no colored threads, so not a lot of color comes through but the wide rustic weave is appealing to some. I like it for the more pronounced depth and character.

Anyhow, we tend to experiment with coffee bags due their cost and tried some wine colored pigment with the CB and voila! drunken coffee bag. We had tried it with both weaves and decided to make it exclusively with the wide weave CBs. It retains the depth and character of the wide weaves but gains visual interest with the wine color.

As far as a custom blade... I'd love to see
