A Day In The... Knife? Daily, What Do You Actually Use Your EDC For?

Down sizing a flower pot.
To splitting up a sandwich.

That looks like Five Guys.....yum!

What about your daily knife usage?
OK . . . here it is . . . I had to say it . . . somebody had to right ? :rolleyes::
I cut phone book paper . . . some times I cut swoopy curvy cuts and some times straight cuts. When I want to go completely over the top crazy I cut cross grain.

Then after a nice hour or two of phone book paper I move on to hair. Some times I split hairs and some times I cut little curls off a hair. I just got a new Spyderco Delica with the Wharncliffe blade so I am working on whittling my name in a hair with that nice tip. . . I haven't completed the project yet . . . had to take a break for a while.
:):p

Not to split hairs, but.... :p

It's time to take it to the next level. Like whittling up multiple curls on the SAME hair, while free hanging. And slicing ULTRA-THIN cigarette paper rather than medium cigarette paper. Then you'll know you've arrived and are getting your money's worth out of your knives. o_O

The truth is most days my knife doesn’t do much other than chill out in my pocket. Living in the city there isn’t usually a use for a knife. Most packages these days come with wrappers that are designed to be opened without a knife. Most bottles are designed to not need a cap lifter. (A potential use for the wave on some of my knives)

A few days ago I used my knife to cut a falafel laffa in half. Most use is regulated to pretty mundane tasks.

But my most common task for my knives is boring my friends trying to get them to apreciate my new or favourite knives.

Breaking down boxes, opening packages mainly.
Used one the other day to cut some fine grit sandpaper into smaller pieces for a project.
I have a Byrd rescue knife in my glove box just in case. I do quite a bit of driving on the highway.

usually opening boxes but lots of times it scrapes gaskets, cuts zipties and similar items. carry a CRK Lg 21 sebenza all day every day.
