A day in the Shop

Well I was supposed to be at work BUT...they were letting people go home early and I would rather be in the shop then at work SOOO...
This is what I got done.
Top pic is 2 blades in 3/16" 1095 with some blond maple burl and brass pins.
bottom is of a 1/8" D2 with black micarta and tubing. These will be up for grabs once I get to make sheaths. Ill tell you what not being at work made me a much happier person today! :)

great looking. How do you make the steel such a great shade of grey or is that just the lighting.
 
ib2v4u- the gray is just from sandblasting...it comes out much brighter then I take renaissances wax to it and it turns this shade.

Very nice looking! What type and grit of blasting media did you use to get that finish?
