  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

A defense of thumb safeties.

No. Some people are just stupid. So you have to jump them like a Marine Corps drill instructor every time they do it. My stare is so cold that people can feel it without looking to see if I'm watching.
"My stare is so cold" This made me laugh.

My personal preference for pistols have always been thumb safeties. It’s just what I’m used to, and knowing how truly dumb people can be, I can appreciate that extra step before something goes bang. As long as you’re conscious and familiar with your firearm unholstering and flipping the safety should be fluid and require no extra thought after practice.

With Striker Fired, familiarity is key, as well as using your brain and keeping your finger off the trigger. I’d expect that they would be quicker to use in a high risk situation, but not by a whole lot.

I will add that I love the way CZ did their safeties with the older SAO variants newer models. The safeties act as a thumb rest and when you get used to that grip(thumb forward/on rest), it’s quick to switch. Admittedly, my Shadow is much more of a target and range toy than a CC, for the weight alone.
