So here's the story, I look at knives all over the internet, including some questionable places. I was looking at knives on Etsy just now, and by chance I came across an item that is also being sold here in the Exchange, with the same exact pictures.

It looks to me like the Etsy seller is a vendor selling Pakistani stuff. Not only do the items reek of cheap Pakistan, but in the vendor reviews a few US buyers say that their items were shipped unexpectedly from Pakistan.

Both the member and the Etsy seller claim to be located in the same US state.

I try not to be overly suspicious, but I can't help but wonder if the member is a vendor trying to sell Pakistani stuff on this forum without a Dealer membership. If someone has a "business" selling stuff on Etsy (with a business name), and they are selling the same stuff here, wouldn't that make them a Dealer? I don't know if the member is the seller on Etsy, but there are some suspicious coincidences

I'm not going to identify the member unless a Moderator asks me to. I could also provide a Moderator with a link to the Etsy sellers business page if necessary, where the item in question is easy to find.

Or maybe it's none of my business. I'll wait to hear from a Moderator.

The truth is not something to be avoided. Provide the information so we have something to work with. If the party has something to say in their defense, they are welcome to.

Consider this to be "hearing from a moderator".

Here is the Exchange thread- https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/sculpture-lion-viking-axe.1952198

Here is the Etsy vendors page- https://www.etsy.com/shop/SksenterprisesArt?ref=shop-sugg-market

Scroll down a little and you'll see the axe in the right column.

If you click on the item listing, it says the seller is in Providence Rhode Island. In this thread the member says he's located in Scranton, Rhode Island- https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/learning.1952071/
The staff have been discussing this in recent days...brought to our attention by my partner in crime Boru13 Boru13

We're not geniuses, well, maybe, but somehow we were able to deduce that shipping American made goods from Pakistan to buyers in the U.S. seemed to be a less than optimal plan. I mean, it could be we're just missing something, but I figure it's faster to get something from Cranston, R.I. to N.C. than having it come in from Lahore. But shipping is tricky business.

(Sarcasm intended.)

Thanks for stepping up, K killgar

You're welcome :) .

I never like to publicly accuse people of dishonesty without proof (which is why I didn't identify him in my opening post), but I thought there was some pretty strong circumstantial evidence. And something about it just rubbed me the wrong way.
