A face in my patina.

That's true, scrteened porch. I bet it is the same thing with the op's knife. Since I'm the first one that mentioned that HIS knife is haunted, the heavy burden of helping the trapped spirits to move on would fall to me,I suppose. Well, not being one to shirk my duties, I (reluctantly) accept.

Got me.

I am 75 years old and I am sure glad to know that I am not the only one out there seeing things in or on other things. Everyone knows full well it is a motorcycle with doors.

Looks like a pitbull face, LOL.

It does indeed look like a polar bear, Macchina.

I had a similar experience. After I cut cheese with this one, a patina formed with a face that resembles Slim Pickens.

I attended an Oktoberfest celebration where everyone saw visions when our host cut the cheese!

We are nice people - don't be afraid!

Here is a hot cup of coffee or hot tea over the miles. I even have an apple turnover for you and yours.

There, there, don't you feel better now?

He still has a bear on his blade! LOL

I do indeed feel better, but I can't bear to look at that knife!!

I used this knife to spread Limburger cheese on my pumpernickel, and forgot to rinse it off!!:o

Then I got dive-bombed by a flying squirrel!!
And then I couldn't sleep - but that was probably the raw onions on my sandwich . . . . . . . .:p

I think it's a pitbull terrier too.

I once saw one of the Coneheads from Saturday Night Live in the patina of a knife blade.

I pointed it out on another knife site, but no one else could see it and I was thought to be "strange".

It was there, though.

So I've been using my 77 at work for cutting up fruit and the patina seems to change weekly. It's been white-flesh peaches for a few days and today I noticed what looks like a polar bear swimming show up on my blade.

Maybe you'll see it, maybe not. Now that I've seen it I can't see anything else, it appears to be intentionally painted on.

Have you ever had a recognizable shape show up in patina?

And a bit closer:

that looks like a Capybara

What are you guys putting in the Kool-Aid?! I thought I saw a harpoon crew rowing hard towards their quarry! :D

Jack, I think you've been looking at too much scrimshaw!:roll eyes:
(Actually, I see the harpoon boat, too, after you pointed it out.;))
