Nice of you to pay such tribute to your Dad, Jennifer. He sounds like a man to look up to, one with qualities that too often are missing!
Congratulations to you both!
I too knew a man like him!
RIP, Dad!!
Your Dad sounds like a great man! You have a great way with words  Also sounds a lot like my own Dad who I was just lucky enough to see this last weekend. Over 1000 miles separates me from mine and the get togethers unfortunately are getting harder to come by. He taught me to lead by example, pay attention to your surroundings and always get the job done right. I owe a lot to him and will always cherish the wonderful childhood he gave me.
What a wonderfully written tribute to your father! I'm sure you do it already, but make sure to tell him all these things or read him this note.
Thanks for posting this Jone. Many of us are lucky to have real dads that are and were in our life and shaped us into the people we are today. I just posted this on another spot about my own dad, who was the the most honorable man I ever met and one helluva dad to me and my siblings.
BF is like family to me now in some ways so I wanted to post here today.
Happy Fathers Day Daddy. Most everything about me and my life I owe to you. You made me WHAT I am by the examples you set for hard work, honesty, and integrity. More importantly you made me WHO I am by sharing 40+ years of adventures with me and guiding me and teaching me even when I didn't know I was learning the lesson. There was never a time in my life when I didn't know you were there if I ever needed anything.
Of all the things I can be proud of, the thing I am most proud of is to be your son.
My life is surrounded by you every day. Some physical things and a lifetime of memories. There isn't a day I don't think of you and miss you. I love you dad.
My dad.
