A few B.A.D.A.S.S.s

I got a BADASS question (besides what BADASS stands for - didn't see it on Dwayne's site):

Sometimes they have that snap-loop at the bottom. What is that for???? I've never undstood what it would snap TO. IS it to set it aroudn a belt loop when carrying horizontal?

Yes, it is so the sheath doesn't slide along your belt when you draw the knife out.

I believe BADASS = Busse Active Duty Advanced Sheathing System.

The snap-loop originally appeared on the horizontal only sheath.

RVOKNIO has it right. :) Got your e-mail! SWEEEEET!! Incoming mail as soon as I can sit long enough to write back!

Gundy originated the basic design, it was a dedicated horizontal sheath with the snap loop at the bottom hooking around the pants loop to hold it steady. That design works best with smaller knives like the AS, SK, and the GW. Any bigger and it seems to make the knife handle stick out too far. Some ingenious hogs have used the loop for some other rather surprising things, such as a necklace loop for neck carry.

I've been meaning to start a thread about the BADASS sheaths for those new collectors. Going to have to add something to the site for this upcoming upgrade, the wife is doing some awesome new pages! :D

Before anyone asks what got the LeatherHog so excited...........

I emailed him about wrapping up my set of Piano Keys and the MOAB. I only request that he wipes off the drool so they don't spot up. :D
