Blade length: 8.75 in.
Total length: 13.50 in.
Blade width: 1.76 in.
Blade: Differential ladder pattern Damascus forged from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels
Bolster: 416 stainless steel
Handle: Mammoth ivory with a nickel silver pommel
Sheath: Kathy Anders diamond back rattlesnake skin wrapped wood sheath with nickel silver fittings.
Description: The 9 in. long blade was forged by Jerome using 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The differential ladder pattern was forged so as to have a defined ladder effect toward the spine with flattened layers approaching the edge. The blade has been lightly heat blued for an iridescent effect. A Damascus "shell' forms an arch over the blade -- forged from matching Damascus the oval guard and ferrule are both formed with 416 stainless steel. The mortised handle is formed from exhibition grade fossil mammoth ivory. Light caramel tones form the background with significant blue and green veins. The handle is finished off with a nickel silver pommel-plate. The additional accompanying sheath was made by Kathy Anders, Jerome's wife. A wooden sheath was wrapped with rattlesnake skin and is finished off with a nickel silver throat and tip. The sheath has been perfectly fit to the Bowie.
SOLD...THANK YOU (all inclusive) PP/MO
2). 2009 March of Dimes Charity Bowie Collaboration
ABS Mastersmith Terry Vandeventer forged, a fairly large W2 clip point bowie blade with subtle hamon.
ABS Journeyman smith Craig Camerer forged damascus billet and amazing shell carved S guard , as well as the shell finial nut.
Master leather craftsman Paul Long crafted one of his extraordinary alligator inlayed sash sheaths.
Chad Nichols provided the random pattern damascus used to create the carved buttcap.
John Cohea assembled the complex frame handle consisting of a total 19 different pieces.
The quality and eye appeal on this knife are both outstanding with each element accentuated by some of the best makers/craftsmen working today. Even the stag handle slabs are some of the finest presentation grade you will ever see.
