I know some of these have been mentioned before and up until a couple days ago you could only watch 10 minute clips for each of the first four which are the from the Alone in the Wilderness set about Dick Proenneke, then theirs Heimo's Arctic Refuge about the trapper Heimo Korth and his homestead in northeast Alaska, and also the full version of Les Stroud's 1994 documentary Snowshoes and Solitude. For some reason these movies occasionally start playing well into the film so make sure you set it to the beginning if need be. I'm sure some of you have seen them but for anyone who hasn't, enjoy. These are fantastic documentaries by some of the true woodsmen of our time. I imagine Dick Proenneke would have been great friends with Nessmuk and Kephart had they ever met. His skills would have definitely made them proud.

I have no idea why video 2-6 don't have active links. I redid them 3 times but nothing, so just copy and paste them in the address bar instead...like you didn't know that already;)

Sorry guys, it looks like the full movies from the Alone in the Wilderness only survived about 3 days before being taken down. I feared that might happen since they are copyrighted but I hoped they would have made it a week or two at least since they weren't popular movies or anything like that. There are still really good 5-10min clips of each one on YouTube so if you type in the title it will probably be the top of the list. The shortest clip is Frozen North @ only about 3-1/2 mins but its shows enough to make you possibly want to buy it.
Here's the clips

These won't be taken down and they're short, but they are still really cool to watch. I personally plan to buy the series some day soon. Dick Proenneke is a man that all men should model their lives after. His creativity, ingenuity, and his hands on, hard work ethic is one I wish I had myself. And as a fan of photography, I'd love to have his 16mm Bolex:)
