A Few More Hogs Bite the Dust (hunting pics)

Here's the tool of choice for me. Marlin 444, 265 grain Hornady Leverevolution, scout scope (variable 2-7x)

Nice setup! I use to have mine setup with a Leupold 2.5X scout scope and Ashley Ghost rings. I have since switch over to a conventional 1.5X-4X Schmitt & Bender. I am assuming you have a decelerator pad on yours ;)

BTW, where on earth did you find a Intermediate Eye Relief variable 2-7X scout scope? I wish I would have known before switching out the 2.5X Leupold to a conventional 2.5-8X Zeiss Conquest for my Steyr Scout.

Ban, it's a Burris handgun scope.

I looked long and hard to find one that worked, but it's a sweet set-up. It's really fast at 2x, but you can hunt out of a box stand at 7x as well. Pretty versatile rig.

I am a big fan of the scout concept and a variable 2-7X scout scope is pretty darn ideal. So the longer eye relief of a handgun scope is not a problem when mounted for Intermediate Eye Relief?

I think I have that same scope already. I have a Burris 2-7X with Posi-lock Handgun scope for my 454 Super Redhawk.

Off topic but....

Anyone ever tell you that you look alot like the actor that played Jayne Cobb in the series Firefly.

Ban, we had a hard time finding a variable scope that would work -- exactly because of the eye relief problem. This Burris works really well. It's on a XS Scout scope mount, and as you can see in the pic, pushed all the way forward. In 2x all the way up to 5x it is fast with both eyes open. When I get up to 6 and 7x, it's a little slower and I generally just close one eye and use it like a traditional rifle scope. In the lower magnification it's awesome.

I think it was about 2 years ago when i researched it all, there may be another scope out now that would be better. But at the time, this was the best option. I've been very pleased with it.

LOL, no, but that's a whole lot nicer than what most people call me, so I'll take it as a compliment :D

Those little fellas look almost like Javelinas. Interesting that they have horizontal like stripes when young.

Most I've seen do, some other litters do not...

I do know that the stripes make them impossible to see in the tall grass...

Here is a quick video...

Does everybody carry that many guns in Texas?

I like it!!! :cool::D

uh, YES! ;)

The rifle in front is for pigs, the rifle in back is for 'varmints', the pistol is for putting myself out of misery if I fall out of the tree stand and THIS thing is nearby...
