Hi all,

A few things.
Is there a Khukri FAQ?, and if not would you "old timers" be able to put one together?. I'm thinking of a short glossary of terms and descriptions - the world of Khukri's can be a bit confusing for us new guys.

Bill, I have been looking at the photo of the 15in Ak on your web site and I'm a little unsure of something. In the photo the blade apprears to have three distinct planes forward of where the blade bends. It looks like there is the cuuting cutting edge, then a flat section and then what appears to be another 'false edge' for want of a better term, towards the spine. All the other khukri's seem to have just two planes to the blade. Is this just the way that light is hitting the blade in the photo?.

Andre, I wish I knew how to draw a sketch with this keyboard but I don't.

There's a pretty good picture of the Ang Khola here. Those smaller pictures are full of shadows and were taken by me, a poor photographer, with a cheap camera.

It has a single raised spine that curves across the forward section of the blade. And that's what Ang Khola means, "curved spine."

Hope this helps.

Andre, go to KnifeForums.com and look at the "One last khukuri" topic posted on the HI forum there by threadbane. Way down the posts there is a good picture of a tin chirra ( kind of a double Ang Khola - it may make sense when you see it) he has color coded the ridges and valleys on the khukuri, and a khukuri with just the green area dished out is an Ang Khola. Much easier to see. Till I got mine, I thought the dished out area was raised instead from the photos.
