Last weekend I managed to finish a few things up.

and a few of them I made leather sheaths for as well

This one is ATS34 - Paul Bos HT , flat ground with a nice distal taper , tapered tang , desert ironwood with red liners. Hand satin to 400 grit. 10 1/4" OAL , blade 5 1/4". For me , this is a large knife , I tend to make more of the 3 - 4" knives.

Next is a a wharnny in D2 with Paul Bos HT, with tapered tang , ironwood scales with red liner. The wharnny is 6 7/8" overall , with a just under 3" blade. This one is going to a JD member who was been patiently waiting.

This model was inspired by Trace Rinaldi's Matrix model , which is my favorite EDC wharrny I have ever handled , been carrying mine for 3+ years. Trace did give me his blessing since it is different enuff to stand alone , and is no competition for the Matrix.

Drop point in ATS34 with Paul Bos HT, tapered tang , stabilized Koa scales with red liner , this one got a leather sheath and is headed off to France to fill an order. The Koa drop point is 8 3/8" with a 3 7/8" blade.

I love KOA

Some dislike the tapered tangs , I think it really give the knife a nice balance , and a distinct look. This one is both tapered and heavily drilled under the scales. Customer wanted a knife that was very light in the handle. Hopefully I succeeded and he will be pleased.

and finally....

No name for this model , semi-fighter'ish style , certainly NOT tactical , ats-34 with Paul Bos HT , black G10 scales , tapered tang , flat ground. 9 1/2" oal length , 4 1/4" blade. Kydex sheath.

Now I have 4 more fixed blades to finish up plus 1 for a gift to reward a young man who is making Eagle Scout here real soon , then I can get to working on making functional slip joints. :)

Good looking knives and nice sheaths.

Nice work!

Kind regards,

Jos

Thanks Kevin & Jos , my goal is to concentrate on the basics before moving to anything fancy .

I do have this Raindrop Damascus Wharrny I need to finish for a friend in Oregon , we redesigned my wharrny while I was visiting him for Blade West , the entire knife is more sleek , thinner , and will now have a top swedge. First time using damascus , but it's what my friend wanted , and how can I say no to a friend ? :)

Which is also a design I am working on making into an easy open style slipjoint.

Nice knives! I really like the tight fit and finish you got on those Loveless bolts.

Those look really good, John. It's so nice to see a tapered tang, liners and a hand rubbed finish.

Win

Win , that has stuck in my mind since you handled that one a few years ago. I am still trying to get the hand rub finish better , on these everything from 120 grit and up was by hand since I was flat out of belts.

Handle bolts used are loveless style on one side , the other side is like a corby bolt , not sure what they call them , think I got them from Jantz or Sheffields.

Some NICE looking knives John. I also like the tapered tang with liners, nicely finished wood, and well done sheaths.

Peter

I like them...they are very cleanly done.

IMO, anyone who does not like tapered tangs on a full tang knife does not know very much about knives, and how they are made, or simply has exceedingly bad taste.

Again imo, your logo would look better on the choil region than floating out in the middle of the blade.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Those may be basic, but the work looks very clean indeed. Good stuff John.

Roger

Those are outstanding, John......you have the mad skillz buddy!!!

You have really stepped up your knifemaking to another level and your leatherwork is excellent, too. :)

Steven , thanks for that , I had been considering putting my logo on the choil. Much appreciate the suggestion.

Dudley ! Thanks , though I have quite a way to go until I will be satisfied. :)
