I've really been getting into traditional folders lately wanted to post a few pictures.

The first two are pictures of my grandfathers favorite Case. Im having trouble identifying the knife and the age, so I figured one of you guys might know. He died in the 80's so its decently old. The last picture is just a few of my favorites

Pictures of that old case in the opened position with a close up of the stamp would probably help to date it.... I'm no expert and I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you @ when it was made.

Nice collection there George. I like the redbone on the Case stockman. Thanks for posting your knives.

thanks, according to the site listed earlier in the thread, the stockman was made between 1965-1969. The second knife from the left is a Schrade that my other grandfather gave me. Kinda cool to have a knife from my two grandfathers

Any idea why that little case knife is so hard to sharpen? I tried for over an hour and couldn't get it sharp at all

You may wish to post this question (and read the tremendous number of helpful threads on sharpening) in the "Maintenance" forum. Thanks.
(And my first thought as to your dilemma would be that you may not have reached the edge at the angle you were sharpening at. But, as mentioned, this topic is best pursued in the other forum.)
