A few of my latest, something different

Yup, that's it. And there were more, too...including, well, I'll let it be a surprise. I'll put up the before pics tomm when there is decent light. You're right, before and after will be cool.

awesome...that will be one great thread, I still want a close up of the top left ( from memory ), and also the knife with the nice little shield...2nd bottom right... bring it on there Dan!

Will do..the before pics will be up by tomm night. My pictures aren't nearly as good, but I'll do my best.

mirroring charlie's opinion, you have been busy. the shapleigh [d-e --quality pledge ] rivals some of the older bruckmanns. the primble is battered & torn but it's grace ca'nt be denied.---dennis

Duncan, wow ! I think it was only about 1 year ago, or less, that we first chatted about Traditional style folders. I can see from the great choices you have made that you have learned a lot about these knives since then.
Traditionals are such a fascinating (and expensive) hobby because there is no end to warm & beautiful well made knives in so many patterns by lots of manufacturers. And seemingly no end to the intricate histories of these companies and who made what.
Your collab Dogleg is a great score. I'm still looking for that one (pref. in stag). I have been collecting 3 and 4 blade Senator Pens so your Shapleigh D-E is my favorite here. This pattern requires the utmost of cutlery skill to fit the blades in place so perfectly.
Charlie, Schrade Cut. Co. for the D-E ? or early Walden ?

Looks to me like someone with great taste has been hunting with great success. ;)

Thank you Dennis, I do have quite a few more...but we have seen them, mind you...Im thinking I would like to be a fly on the wall when you spread your collection out!!...you have some very, very beautifull knives my friend, and thank you for your comments. I am carrying the primble today-its such a cool knife!I put a tidy edge on it, but Im not happy-so i will strop it some more

Roland, thank you Sir! Both you and Dennis most certainly know a lot more about the Shapliegh...and thanks to Charlie too...Where could I go to to find out more about this lovely wee knife?

Cheers Gus, but my trophy room from my hunting is still small ( but my Visa is not telling me this  )

Duncan, Lovely group of knives my friend! I hope you enjoy
them all! That Saddlehorn and Dogleg fits you perfect!
great pics as well!~ Keep them coming!

Across the board a very tasteful collection, well chosen.

Three stand out for me, the Primble has such eerie scales, beautiful. The quality of construction of that Shapleigh speaks volumes, such a small knife too. The CASE Half Congress is a fine example of a knife not seen enough.

Thank you Duncan for letting us see.

here is a fine big boy...looking through Dennis's usual fantastic threads of his G.E.C.s reminded me of this...the bone is something a wee bit different, fantastic jigging and in ordinary light...very very dark scales-you would pass it as black...but out in the sun....

Also thank you Vince for this beaut!!..
The snap on this is better than any new production knife, the swedges are pretty darn classic too...for a knife than is 100 years old...I think its doing pretty well, I Love this ol' girl..home to stay :D

Duncan, now you're showing us a nice trio of vintage Hawkbills ! I wonder what else we haven't seen yet. You've crossed over mate, you can't stop now. There's so many great old U.S.A. knives, and British, oooooh those sweet 100+ yr. old Sheffield multiblades, and don't forget Germany, very fine 100 yr. old knives there too.
Eventually you'll be the owner/curator of the New Zealand Museum of Traditional Folding Knives. Your retirement income !
Yep, addictive but thoroughly enjoyable hobby.
Thanks for these fine pictures. Hope there's more to come.

Very nice knives, all of them. Thanks for sharing. I really love those doglegs, especially the colab. It is in the top three of all the colab knives.

Speaking of the Case/Bose...I took my youingest to the movies...over here in New Zealand the movie "I am number 4 " is out right now( prob. about 1 year behind you guys...anyway.. )..I had the Collab in my hand the entire movie...to the utmost annoyance to my daughter..well, not to bad..she just remarked how obsessed I was with knives.
I just dont know what she means...they just dont get it do they guys ( and gals )

My daughter would have taken it out of my hand. ;) My wife, on the other hand would have been ---->

And a photo with bone..

This picture would make a great jigsaw puzzle. I'm spying this one right in the middle, and it looks like a Schrade Walden "Westerner", either an 895 or 825, the slim stockman. Sure would like to see a bigger picture of it.
