A few of my recent Neo-Japanese pieces - COOP PHOTO ADDED

Thanks, gang! I'm pretty happy with them, as well.

Mecha, I really should have made a video or two. I blew it. I was testing the big piece by chopping through some 12" long seasoned hemlock 2x12's a buddy of mine gave me. With the hemlock stood up on end, that thing effortlessly cleaves them in one swipe. WAY too much fun.

Rick, they all have that flow - my photos suck. I just can't figure out how to do these pieces justice with my camera. There's far more flow to them than my images ever manage to convey. And you suck.

Hoping to have Coop's image of the other knife soon. VERY happy with the test shot he sent me. Proof positive that it PAYS to have a pro do your photos!

I've been working on my heat treat for this alloy, and just got a series of electron microscope images back from testing, but there are a few more things to examine before I can decide if I've gone as far as I can. LOVE this steel.

Got the photo of the last one from Coop!

WOOHOO!!!

LOVE how this one came out. 6" tanto in Crucible CPM-154, curly koa under the wrap, gold aoi menuki and an elephant-hide-covered, ultrasuede-lined aluminum sheath.

Love the tones and textures on this one. I'm not even going to follow that up with an insult, buddy.... sorry to disappoint.

I guess it's alright, if you're into that sort of thing.

This was impressive indeed! Small details: The rough flats, the fitted sheath, perfectly executed wrap, the crowned spine...

Sweet!

That is what separates good from GREAT! Absolutely love this piece, great job Matt :D

Coop did a fantastic job with that photo. Bout time you had a worthy pic, Matt. The background color also compliments that knife perfectly, unlike your cheesy 1990 Steven Seagal leather jacket :p Does that come with tassles, by the way?

Dude - that 'jacket' is the gimp suit you left here.

;)

Thanks for the kind words, gang. REALLY happy with Coop's shot. That's one thing that the Wulf has right - my photos just never seem to get what I'm going for.

I've seen your pieces on here before, and one I hope buy one. As soon as the wife finishes her master degree my funds will be a bit more available for indulgent purchases [emoji16]

about time we get to see a Coop photo of your work. Definitely deserves it.

ps. the Son of Exactimundo has become indispensable. Transitioning from a folder to it for edc was a no brainer.

That's just too funny, bud. That's a rare knife, and I know that one of them is doing duty trimming bonsai (seriously, can you possibly think of a better use for it?).

That makes me happy. See you in a couple weeks!!
